Slept in like crazy (which is like, 9:00 for us now), which was delightful. Lazed around all morning in our PJs, glutted ourselves on Desperate Housewives (we had 8 unwatched episodes from Netflix), and later grabbed lunch out. Watched more Desperate Housewives (love), and chatted with family, and played a little Resident Evil 4. Nothing like killing zombies on Thanksgiving. ^_^
We didn’t get the whole turkey/potatoes/cranberry-sauce goodness yet–that’s today’s awesomeness over at Kaku’s parents’ house. We’re really looking forward to it. ^_^
Made a quick stop by Walmart for some essentials, and got some fruit stuff for a light dinner (which we both felt like–my stomach had been off, for some reason, anyway). And almost finished off the Desperate Housewives marathon.

So as my post title might imply, I’m very excited that I get Thursday and Friday off for Thanksgiving (meaning today is like Thursday, and tomorrow, like Friday)! Work was good, and I got a lot done, which was fabulous. And the alarm system didn’t do anything weird! ALSO YAY!
Came home, and got some Apex stuff off my plate of things to do, so that was good too. My email’s still being a little strange (yesterday, it wouldn’t let me send any out-going messages). >.o Tonight, it seems like it wants to do the same thing, though it was working fine not an hour ago. *shrugs* Whatever. Still glad I’m getting back on a roll with sub-editor stuff! YAY! ^_^
I need to go grocery shopping…

The weekend has been a blast, which is saying a lot, considering we (myself, Andy, and Kaku) actually watched The Happening (willingly). Now don’t get all excited–the viewing confirmed the films place on our worst movies ever list, but now we feel vindicated because Kaku knows it belongs there. XD! We also played a lot of MarioKart and drank delicious rum and cokes (which–coming from me–is quite a statement). It just goes to show how much rum choice makes a drink good or not. ^_^
We also got the oil changed (yay!), got Andy shoes (yay!), got a salmon cook book (yay!), and got two sweatshirts (yay!) The sweatshirts are particularly good because I just happened to see a Hawaii Warriors sweatshirt at Finish Line, and since my old one is wearing itself out (there’s a thumb-hole in the pocket, and the cuffs have been worn in half), and Andy got a Longhorns/Texas sweatshirt.

Well, I think I’m over the initial exhaustion of the new FT job. I’m getting used to the hours, used to the time restrictions, used to the commute, and most of all, used to the work. I don’t feel quite as much like a fish out of water.
The benefit of this gradual adapting is that I’ve gotten back full-swing to Apex submissions, which have sadly sat in my inbox longer than I would usually like (still under our 20-30 day turnaround, but still). Got through a number today, which was good, and actually makes my submission folder look a little more manageable! YAY! That’s a relief.
And don’t forget that Apex is holding it’s post-halloween raffle at this moment! Lots of awesome goodies there, so do check it out! It’s just a dollar for a ticket, and that ticket could get you some great prizes.
Did I mention that Andy and I now have two love-seats? WELL WE DO! No more sitting on the floor, like we’ve been doing for the past two months. Now we’ve got a nice little curl-up TV spot. It looks almost like a Sims living room. ^_^
The cats are doing much better too–no longer hiding under the bed (at least not all day). Ozzy is a regular attention pest, which we adore. Mei is much quieter and shy, but she’s a lovey when she’s feeling social. And I think we’ve got Ozzy to stop trying to knead our legs while we’re trying to sleep at night, which is a much appreciated improvement!
I’d like to say the house is also in great shape–neat and tidy–but it’s not. We seriously need to do dishes, but when do I have the time? (Or want to spend that time doing dishes?) We’ll figure out something though.

It’s been a long week. Work itself was fine, but I had this weird sick thing going on that may be part bug and part stress-reaction. *lovely* At any rate, I’ve been drained and exhausted, and not a little physically uncomfortable all week. Seems to be getting better though, thank goodness.
Catching up on Apex stuff this weekend, at last!, which will be good. I’ve been so out of wack this week, it was all I could do just to get up announcement posts and get a few submissions done before collapsing in bed.
Cats seem to be settling in well. Litter box is a go, and they’re out from under the bed. They’re real sweeties, and they talk, which is hilarious.
I’d get totally smashed tonight to celebrate getting through the week, but I’m terrified of kicking up the stress-reaction again. So I’ll probably just eat and zone out on a Desperate Housewives or two.
Or three…

Not one, but two! They’re both Siamese mixes, brother and sister (since we’ll be gone much of the day, we figured it would be better if they had someone else to keep them company), and mellow. They’re in their silver years, both about 11 years old, but both are spry and sweeter than honey. Honestly, when we met them, we thought they were four or five. We’ve named the one (previously “Flounder”) Oswald, because he’s a charming gentleman in his silver years (and he’s also silver himself), and for anyone who has read My Uncle Oswald by Roald Dahl, you’ll know why this is suitable. His sister (previously “Moppet”) is now named Mei (May), after the little girl in Totoro, because she looks the most Siamese and an Asian name seemed to fit.
Will definitely post pictures later, but not to the point of being annoying, I promise. ^_^

There. I said it. I’m not going to lie. I’ve been dying to get a furry friend for this apartment, to the point that I don’t even care if it means not getting a couch for another month. I want a kitty. A sweet little (or not so little) ball of fur who I can dote on. We’re currently leaning toward an adult cat, me thinks, rather than a teen/kitten, but it’ll kind of depend on who we fall in love with tomorrow. THAT’S RIGHT. We’re gonna go see the kitties tomorrow! XD! Love.
Week went well. I’m beat, but not as exhausted as I was last week. I’ve also learned some nifty hunting terms. ^_^ lol

Okay, I know no one cares about my political leanings, but no one’s forcing you to read this blog, either. So there!
YAY! ^_^
Also, totally unrelated to politics: The Apex Post-Halloween Raffle is in full swing! Check out all the awesome goodies we’ve got up for grabs, and make sure to get your raffle tickets while you can! I already have mine, so go get yours!

Finally finished out the first week of FT employment. Luckily, ended on a high note rather than a low note, as had occurred earlier in the week. I’m hoping we continue this upward trend. I also hope I get more training, so that when people ask me to do things, I can actually help them. That’d be nice. ^_^
Still trying to figure out the whole weekly schedule thing for keeping up on the household stuff. Did managed to get the whole house tidied up, vacuumed, and mopped today, plus got the dishes all done, so hopefully I’m starting off the week on the right foot.
Halloween was actually pretty quiet for us. We still don’t know the area all that well, so we didn’t really know where to go or what to do. We did get candy just in case the neighbor kids decided to come around, but they didn’t–so now I’ve got 2lbs of DumDums. Mmmmm. Yummy! ^_^ We did watch The Ghost and Mr. Chicken yesterday, which was fun. Plus watched Muppet Treasure Island.
Edit: Andy put up our pictures. ^_^
